The Supertech block guard for K20 and K24 engines reinforces the block to add durability where it's needed. It fills the gap between the outside of the cylinder wall and the rest of the block, adding rigidity to reduce cylinder flex and help prevent cracking on high-stress, high-boost builds.

Why A Block Guard

The K-series block is open-deck, so the cylinders are only supported at the bottom. Under high cylinder pressure those walls can flex and eventually crack, which is a common failure point on built turbo K-series engines. A block guard braces the top of the cylinders against the block, stiffening the deck so the cylinders stay round and supported when you're making real power. It's one of the key steps in taking a K-series bottom end beyond stock power levels reliably.

A block guard has to add rigidity without choking off coolant flow, and that's where cheaper guards fall short.
