Every E85 K-series build eventually learns why the factory filter isn't enough: ethanol scrubs the tank and lines clean of years of varnish and sends it straight at the injectors. Radium's 20-0220-03 is a serviceable inline filter with a 10 micron stainless element and 10AN ORB ports on both ends, sized to flow a dual-pump system without a pressure drop and built to be opened, cleaned, and closed again instead of thrown away.

What It Is and Why It Works

The body is three pieces of CNC machined 6061 aluminum, Type II anodized, with removable end caps that each carry a 10AN ORB female port. ORB ports seal on an O-ring, not tapered threads, so you can run any 6AN, 8AN, or 10AN adapter into them with no sealant. The element is a 4.2 by 1.75 inch stainless mesh at 10 microns, which is the right rating for a post-pump filter protecting injectors and small enough to catch what ethanol drags loose. Radium ships it with Viton O-rings, so it's happy in gasoline, E85, methanol, and diesel, and it's rated for EFI pressure up to 150 psi. Stainless mesh doesn't degrade in alcohol fuels the way paper does, and when it loads up you unscrew the caps, rinse the element, and put it back. It works pre-pump as a coarse strainer or post-pump as the main filter; on a surge tank system it goes after the lift pump.

Not vehicle-specific. Radium also offers this housing with cellulose and microglass elements under other suffixes; the -03 is the stainless 10 micron.

What to Know Before You Buy

Nothing to mount it with is in the box. Radium's 60mm filter clamp (20-0221) is the matching bracket, and you'll need two ORB adapters for whatever hose size you're running. Put it downstream of the pump and upstream of the regulator, arrow pointing toward the engine, and give the element a look every time you're under the car for the first few thousand miles after switching to E85; the first fill pulls a surprising amount of junk. Clean it with fresh fuel or brake clean and compressed air from the inside out. If the car sees methanol, this is the element to run; paper and microglass elements don't like it, stainless doesn't care.
