PRL Motorsports Rear Motor Mount - 2022+ Honda Civic / 2023+ Acura Integra

Most aftermarket motor mounts force you to choose: control your engine or preserve your sanity. PRL's rear motor mount for the 2022+ Civic and 2023+ Integra doesn't make you pick. The 60A EPDM bushings are stiffer than stock but dramatically quieter than urethane - you get the throttle response and wheel hop reduction without the cabin buzz that makes long drives miserable. It fits every variant, from a stock 1.5T CVT daily to a built Type R or Integra Type S. One mount, one durometer, done.

Why Urethane Mounts Rattle Your Brain Loose

Urethane is stiff, which is why it reduces engine movement - but stiffness isn't the whole story. Urethane transmits vibration directly into the chassis instead of absorbing it. That's the buzz you feel in the steering wheel, the drone at idle, the rattle on rough pavement. It doesn't go away because urethane isn't designed to dampen - it's designed to resist.

PRL switched to EPDM, which is denser than urethane. That density means they can run a softer 60A durometer and still outperform the factory mount on engine movement control. The softer durometer absorbs vibration instead of transmitting it. You get more rigidity than stock without the harshness that comes with urethane. It's the same reason Honda uses EPDM in factory mounts in the first place.

EPDM Holds Up Where Urethane Falls Apart

Urethane bushings mushroom and wallow out over time. Heat cycles, oil contamination, and road chemicals all accelerate the breakdown - and once they start deforming, you're back to the engine movement you were trying to fix. EPDM resists all of it: heat, ozone, chemicals, abrasion. It doesn't deform under sustained load or repeated heat cycles. PRL press-fits the EPDM bushings into the aluminum mount body to eliminate any gaps that could lead to metal-on-metal contact. The bushing does its job. The aluminum stays clean.

I-Beam Cross-Section - More Strength, Less Weight

PRL machined this mount with an I-beam cross-section - the same geometry used in structural beams and connecting rods because it resists bending and lateral stress better than flat plates or basic bracket designs. They were able to pack significantly more material into this mount than the factory piece without making it heavy. That extra material stiffens the whole assembly, which means less engine movement under hard acceleration, hard braking, and aggressive shifting. The billet 6061 aluminum construction keeps it light while giving it the rigidity to actually hold the engine where you put it.

One Mount for Every Civic and Integra Variant

PRL didn't just slap this on a Si and call it tested. They ran it on 1.5T CVT daily drivers, 1.5T manuals, Si models, the FL5 Type R, and the DE5 Type S - and landed on 60A EPDM as the durometer that works across all of them. No soft street version, no stiff track version. No guessing which one your build needs. If you're running a stock Civic commuter or a modified Integra Type S that sees track days, the same mount works for both without compromise.

Honest trade-off: You'll notice slightly more NVH than the factory mount. That's unavoidable when you stiffen a motor mount. But it's genuinely mild - nowhere near the harshness of urethane. No break-in needed, it works from the first drive.
