PRL High Volume Intake (HVI) - 2022-2026 Honda Civic 1.5T & 2023-2026 Acura Integra
Honda actually got the air ducting right on the 11th gen. Unlike the 10th gen, these cars came with a large, efficient duct feeding air through the front bumper, and PRL made the smart call: instead of throwing that away, the HVI keeps the factory air guides and builds around them. Then it goes further, adding its own injection molded High Volume Inlet Duct that clips to the airbox and seals against the factory hood seal. The result is more airflow, real gains, and no tune required.
10+ Horsepower And Torque, No Tune
That's the headline and it's an honest one. PRL rates the HVI at 10 or more horsepower and torque on a stock car, and you collect it without an ECU calibration. Bolt it on and drive.
The gains come from the whole path being opened up rather than one component. A 4-inch oiled cone filter, a one-piece High Volume MAF housing sized to keep fuel trims where they should be, and an HDPE rotomolded airbox fed by that inlet duct. Custom molded 4-ply silicone with receiving grooves ties it together without pinching down anywhere along the way.
It Uses Honda's Own Ducting
This is the design decision worth understanding, because it's why the HVI works as well as it does on this chassis.
The 11th gen's factory bumper duct is genuinely good. Plenty of intakes ignore it and pull air from wherever the filter happens to sit, which usually means warmer engine bay air. PRL kept the factory air guide and seal and designed the airbox to work with them, so you're drawing cool outside air through the path Honda already engineered for it.
Then the supplied High Volume Inlet Duct attaches with OE-style clips and seals against the factory rubber hood seal. That seal is what keeps hot underhood air out of the box, which is the whole battle with heat soak. Cooler air in means denser air in, and denser air is power that holds up on a hot day instead of fading.
Filter Service Without Removing The Box
Small thing, genuinely appreciated. PRL designed the airbox so you can get to the filter for cleaning without pulling the whole assembly out. Anyone who's wrestled an intake back into place just to service a filter knows why that matters.
Room To Go Further
There's a provision built into the bottom of the airbox for PRL's High Volume "Plus" Cold Air Intake Duct. Add that and the HVI becomes a true cold air intake, pulling from an additional source below.
You don't need it, and the HVI performs well on its own. But it's there if you want to take it further later, which means this isn't a dead end when your build progresses.
50-State Legal
Worth having on a modern car. The HVI carries CARB EO D-878-1 for 2022-2023 model years, and it's SEMA Certified-Emissions under SC-APG01-0044. That makes it legal for sale and use on emissions-controlled vehicles in all 50 states when used per the manufacturer's application guide.
So you get the airflow and the gains without an inspection problem, which matters if you live somewhere that checks.

Who Should Run The HVI
This is for the 11th gen Civic or Integra owner who wants a real, measurable intake upgrade without a tune and without an emissions headache. Stock car looking for a genuine first modification, or a build in progress that needs the intake side sorted. You're getting 10-plus horsepower, cooler intake temps, factory ducting used the way it was meant to be, and a path to a full cold air setup later if you want it. Bolt it on and go.
