PRODUCT DETAILS

Innovative Mounts Passenger Motor Mount for RSX and EP3 Civic Si

If your DC5 or EP3 shudders on takeoff and clunks between first and second, the passenger side mount is the usual suspect. It's the hardest-working mount on the K-series chassis, the factory unit is fluid-filled, and twenty years in, most of them are done. This Innovative Mounts passenger mount is the buy-once replacement, and it comes two ways: powder-coated solid steel, or CNC machined billet aluminum with a third, stiffer bushing option for serious power.

What It Is and Why It Works

Both versions do the same job with the same No-Tear polyurethane bushings, directly replacing the OEM mount (Honda part numbers 50821-S6M-013 and 50820-S6E-E02) on any K-series DC5 or EP3, manual or automatic, RSX Type-S included. The steel mount is the powder-coated workhorse and ships with a billet post mount. The billet version trades a little weight for a machined engine bay piece, comes with Innovative's billet passenger mounting bracket (B90621) in the box, and unlocks the 95A bushing that the steel mount doesn't offer. Function between the two is otherwise identical, so the pick comes down to budget, looks, and whether your build needs that stiffest tier.

The design trade is the same one every Innovative mount makes, and it's worth understanding before you buy. The factory mount uses a fluid-filled cartridge to hush the K20's vibrations, and that cartridge is exactly the part that fails. Innovative deletes the fluid damping entirely and controls the engine with solid urethane instead. The result is an engine that stays planted: less mount deflection under load, crisper response, reduced wheel hop when you're putting power down, and nothing inside the mount left to leak or collapse. The cost is refinement. A firm urethane mount transmits more vibration into the cabin than a healthy fluid mount, most noticeably at idle, and Innovative says so on their own product page. If you want your RSX to feel exactly like it did on the showroom floor, the OEM mount is the right part. If you want the mount that never dies again and makes the chassis feel connected, this is it.

Three durometers cover the range. The 75A is the street pick, rated by Innovative for builds up to around 400 horsepower, which means every bolt-on and most boosted K20s live comfortably inside it. The 85A firms up engine control for 400 to 500 horsepower and track duty. The 95A, billet only, is for 500-plus horsepower builds where maximum engine control outranks everything else. Every step up the scale transmits more vibration, so on a daily-driven car the 75A is the smarter default, and stiffer only earns its keep when power and grip demand it.

2002-2005Honda Civic Si / Type REP3K20 (K-series)

K-series chassis only. Base 2001-2005 Civics (DX, LX, EX) run D-series engines and use a different mount entirely, so if your Civic isn't an Si, this isn't your part. K24-swapped DC5s and EP3s are fine here since the passenger mount interfaces with the chassis side, and this mount is the passenger piece of Innovative's full replacement kits for these cars if you're doing all the mounts at once, which is the smarter move at this mileage since mounts wear as a set.

What to Know Before You Buy

Confirm fitment before anything gets torqued: Innovative does not accept returns or exchanges once a mount has been bolted down and shows bolt impressions. Test-fit first, then commit. One install tip that applies to both versions: the bracket locates on its bolts rather than dowels like the OEM piece, so snug everything hand-tight, let the engine settle to its natural position, then torque to spec, which gets the alignment right
