Innovative Mounts K-Swap Motor Mount Kit - 2000-2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder (MR-S)

Dropping a Honda K-series into your MR-S? Then these mounts are where the whole swap starts. The third-gen MR2 Spyder is a fantastic little mid-engine chassis begging for more power, and a K20 or K24 is exactly the heart transplant it wants, but none of it works right if the engine isn't sitting where it should. This Innovative Mounts kit bolts a K-series into the MR-S the right way, positioning everything so your axles, shifter, and driveline all line up like they're supposed to. Get the mounts right and the rest of the swap falls into place a whole lot easier.

Why The Mounts Make Or Break The Swap

Here's the thing people underestimate on a swap like this. Your mounts don't just hold the engine in, they set where it sits, and that position determines your axle angles, your shifter feel, and how much the drivetrain moves under power. Get it even a little wrong and you're fighting binding axles, a vague shifter, and clunky, wandering power delivery for the life of the build. These mounts are designed to put your K20 or K24 and its transaxle exactly where they belong, and because the bushings are solid and fluid-free, they shut down the wheel hop and drivetrain wind-up that eats power and rattles your fillings. More of what your engine makes actually gets to the pavement.

Bolts In, No Cutting

Best part for anybody deep in a swap: this is a true bolt-in. The kit uses your MR-S factory subframe holes on every 2000 through 2005 Spyder, so there's no cutting, no welding, and no guesswork. That alone saves you a ton of headache on a project that already has plenty of moving parts. It positions the K-series transaxle from an '02-'06 RSX or EP3 Civic Si (manual or sequential) for correct axle angle and shifter alignment, so it drives right, not just fits.

Pick Your Durometer

These come in three polyurethane stiffness levels, and the right one comes down to how you're building the car. Softer rides smoother and passes less vibration into the chassis, stiffer holds the engine tighter for sharper response but transfers more noise and buzz. Here's the lineup:

  • 75A (PN 90551-75A). The most street-friendly of the three. Smoothest ride and least vibration, great for a street or street/track car. Start here if you daily or road-trip the thing.
  • 85A (PN 90551-85A). The middle ground, firmer for aggressive street or road-race duty in the roughly 400-500 HP range. More control, still livable.
  • 95A (PN 90551-95A). Race only. This is the stiffest, basically a solid-mount feel, for 500 HP and up or anyone who wants the engine locked down hard. Expect real vibration, this one's not pretending to be comfortable.

Rule of thumb: match the durometer to your power and how you drive. Street car? Go softer. All-out race build? Go stiff. And since the inserts are replaceable, you're not locked in.

Built To Last And Serviceable

Innovative built these to hold up and to be lived with. The inserts are replaceable, so when they eventually wear or you decide you want a different durometer, you swap just the inserts instead of buying a whole new kit. They're finished in a clean black powder coat that fights corrosion and looks right in the bay, and the whole kit's backed by Innovative's lifetime warranty, so you're covered whether the car sees the street or the track.

What's In The Box

  • Driver-side mount and bracket
  • Passenger-side mount and bracket
  • Rear torque mount
  • Subframe adapter plate
  • All high-grade mounting hardware

That's everything you need to mount the engine. Axles, shift linkage, and wiring are sold separately, since those come down to your specific build.

Good To Know Before You Build

  • Works with common K-swap A/C and power steering delete setups.
  • Compatible with OEM Honda or aftermarket K20/K24 oil pans.
  • Your clutch hydraulic line and exhaust header will need custom routing, which is normal for any MR2 K-swap.

Fits These Cars

  • 2000-2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder (MR-S)

Note: Innovative Mounts K-swap motor mount kit for the 2000-2005 Toyota MR2 Spyder (MR-S), for fitting a Honda K20 or K24 engine. Bolts into the factory subframe holes with no cutting or welding, and positions the K-series transaxle from an '02-'06 RSX or EP3 Civic Si (manual or sequential) for correct axle angle and shifter alignment. Solid, fluid-free polyurethane bushings reduce wheel hop and drivetrain wind-up. Available in three durometers: 75A (PN 90551-75A, most street-friendly), 85A (PN 90551-85A, aggressive street/road-race, ~400-500 HP), and 95A (PN 90551-95A, race only, 500 HP+ or solid-mount feel); softer rides smoother, stiffer holds the engine tighter with more vibration. Inserts are replaceable, finished in black powder coat, and backed by Innovative's lifetime warranty. Kit includes the driver and passenger mounts and brackets, rear torque mount, subframe adapter plate, and mounting hardware; axles, shift linkage, and wiring are sold separately. Works with common A/C and power steering delete setups and OEM or aftermarket K20/K24 oil pans; the clutch hydraulic line and exhaust header will require custom routing typical of an MR2 K-swap. One kit per order.
