PRODUCT DETAILS
If you've ever missed a shift because your stock shifter felt like stirring soup, you already know why this exists.
Hybrid Racing has been building shifters for over 15 years, and the V3 RSX Short Shifter is the result of every lesson learned along the way. It's not a rebadged generic short throw - every dimension, every material choice, and every adjustment range was developed specifically for the RSX and K-swap chassis. The four-link wishbone design keeps the motion fluid through all six gears, and the internal spring eliminates that notchy, dead feeling you get from cheaper setups.
You get a lot of adjustability here - and it actually matters.
With a single 5mm allen wrench, you can dial in your exact preference:
- Throw length: 10% to 50% shorter than stock - you pick where it sits
- Knob height: Up to 2" taller or 1" lower than stock
- Knob position: Closer to or further from the steering wheel
- Gate spacing: Narrow or wide left-right motion, fully adjustable
That combination is rare. Most short shifters lock you into one throw length and one gate width. This one lets you run short throws with wide gates, long throws with tight gates, or anything in between. Street guys typically run it around 30-40% shorter with medium gates. Track guys tend to go full 50% short with tight gates to minimize hand movement between shifts. Set it up however your driving style demands.
The hardware backs up the adjustability.
The base plate is formed and welded A6 steel - lighter and stiffer than the V2. The shift links are full 6061-T6 aluminum with stainless steel ball bearings that need zero lubrication and run quietly. The shift levers themselves are stainless to keep corrosion out of the equation. The internal spring is also swappable if you want a stiffer or lighter resistance feel - it's a 5-minute job.
The shift rod is 170mm and the whole assembly drops in without cutting or fabricating anything. This fits all 2002-2006 Acura RSX chassis natively, and works on 2001-2005 Honda Civic Non-Si and 2002-2006 Honda CR-V K-swap builds using a K20A2, K20A3, or K20Z1 transmission.
Want to see exactly how the V3 improved on the V2? Hybrid Racing breaks it all down on their official blog post here.
- 2002-2006 Acura RSX (all trims, native fit)
- 2001-2005 Honda Civic Non-Si - K-Swap using K20A2, K20A3, or K20Z1 transmission
- 2002-2006 Honda CR-V - K-Swap using K20A2, K20A3, or K20Z1 transmission
Note: Not compatible with Civic Si or any chassis retaining the original B-series or D-series transmission. K-swap chassis must use a K20A2, K20A3, or K20Z1 gearbox for correct fitment. If you're unsure which transmission you have, check the stamping on the bell housing.
