Honda OEM K/L Series Differential Ball Bearing - 91005-PPS-003
Rebuilding your K or L series transmission? This is the genuine Honda differential ball bearing for K and L series gearboxes. It installs in the clutch case alongside the final drive gear and differential. Most applications take two of these bearings, one on each side of the differential. If your diff bearing is worn out, you'll hear grinding or humming from the transmission that changes with vehicle speed but doesn't change when you press the clutch in. Replace them with these OEM bearings and your transmission will run quiet again. Part number 91005-PPS-003.
Why You Need OEM on a Diff Bearing
The differential bearings handle all the torque that gets split between your front wheels. They spin constantly whenever the car is moving, which means they take a beating over time. Cheap aftermarket bearings often use lower quality steel or looser tolerances, so they wear out faster or make noise even when they're new. This genuine Honda bearing is built to the same specs as the original, so you get the reliability Honda engineered into your transmission.
When to Replace Them
If you're hearing a humming or grinding noise that gets louder with vehicle speed but doesn't change when you press the clutch pedal in, your differential bearings are probably worn out. You'll also want to replace them during any transmission rebuild or when swapping in a used trans. Replace both bearings at the same time since they wear together. Don't reuse questionable bearings and end up pulling the transmission apart again in a few months.
