Honda OEM Clutch Release Bearing - D/L/R Series Transmissions

Hearing squealing, chirping, or grinding when you push in the clutch pedal? Your clutch release bearing is probably worn out. This is the genuine Honda clutch release bearing for D series, L series, and R series transmissions. It's the same bearing that came in your transmission from the factory, so it fits right and lasts. When this bearing goes bad, you'll hear noise that goes away when you let the clutch pedal out. Replace it with this OEM bearing before it seizes up and leaves you stranded. Part number 22810-PLW-005.

Why You Need OEM on a Release Bearing

The clutch release bearing spins against your pressure plate whenever your foot's on the clutch pedal. It takes a lot of abuse, especially if you sit at stoplights with the clutch pressed in. Cheap aftermarket bearings often use lower quality steel or seals that leak, so they wear out fast or make noise even when they're new. This genuine Honda bearing is built to the same specs as the original, so you get the reliability Honda engineered into your transmission.

When to Replace It

If you're hearing squealing, chirping, grinding, or rattling when you push the clutch pedal in, your release bearing is worn out. The noise usually goes away when you let the pedal out. You'll also want to replace it anytime you're doing a clutch job, because pulling the transmission twice for a $30 bearing doesn't make sense. If the bearing seizes completely, you won't be able to disengage the clutch and the car won't be driveable.

If replacing this on a D Series transmission, we recommend looking into replacing the clutch release forkspring, and bolt while you are in the transmission. This makes for a complete transmission clutch input overhaul on your D Series. Don't forget the clutch release boot!
