Brembo Front Premium Ceramic Brake Pads - 2003-2007 Honda Accord (Sumitomo)

Your Accord's brakes squealing or your wheels are covered in brake dust? The Brembo front premium ceramic brake pads (part number P28047N) are a direct replacement for your factory front pads on 2003-2007 Accords with Sumitomo calipers. They're ceramic compound instead of semi-metallic, which means way less brake dust and way less noise. The pads drop in with factory fitment and they give you the same pedal feel as your stock pads. If you're sick of cleaning brake dust off your wheels every week or your brakes are squealing when you stop, ceramic pads fix both problems.

Here's Why Your Brakes Are Squealing and Dusting

Your factory brake pads are probably semi-metallic. Semi-metallic pads work fine, but they create a ton of brake dust and they squeal when they're cold or when they're glazed. The dust comes from the metallic particles in the pad material wearing off and sticking to your wheels. The squealing comes from the pads vibrating against the rotors when they grab. Ceramic pads use a different friction material that doesn't create as much dust and doesn't vibrate like semi-metallic pads do. You'll notice way less dust on your wheels and your brakes won't squeal as much when you're stopping.

Ceramic Pads Are Easier on Your Rotors

Ceramic pads are softer on your rotors than semi-metallic pads. Semi-metallic pads have metal particles in them that wear down your rotors faster. Ceramic pads don't have as much metal, so they wear your rotors slower. That means your rotors last longer before you need to resurface or replace them. If you want your rotors to last as long as possible, ceramic pads are the way to go.

Sumitomo Caliper Specific

These pads are sized for Sumitomo calipers specifically. Honda used two different front brake caliper suppliers on the 2003-2007 Accord: Sumitomo and Akebono. The pads are different sizes between the two calipers. Make sure you've got Sumitomo calipers before you order these pads. If you've got Akebono calipers, these pads won't fit. Check your calipers or look up your VIN to verify which calipers you've got.

Note: These pads only fit Sumitomo calipers. If you've got Akebono calipers, these pads won't fit. Check which calipers you've got before you order. You can usually tell by looking at the caliper casting or by checking your VIN with a Honda parts department. When you install new pads, bed them in properly. Drive around normally for the first 50-100 miles and do a few moderate stops from 40-50 mph to transfer pad material onto your rotors. Don't do any hard panic stops until you've bedded the pads in. If you don't bed them in, they'll glaze and they won't stop as well. Inspect your rotors when you're installing new pads. If your rotors are scored, warped, or below minimum thickness, resurface or replace them. New pads on bad rotors won't stop right.
