SpeedFactory Titanium VTEC Oil Pressure Switch Delete Bolt - Honda/Acura Engines
Need to delete your VTEC oil pressure switch? Whether you're running a SpeedFactory cooling fill pot, installing racing camshafts that eliminate VTEC, or just need clearance for aftermarket components, this SpeedFactory titanium delete bolt is what you need. It's machined from Ti-6Al-4V titanium with a hollow domed design to save weight, and it's available in raw or burnt finish to match your engine bay aesthetic. Just pull your factory VTEC oil pressure switch, reuse the factory o-ring, and bolt this in.
Why Delete the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch
There are a few common reasons to delete the VTEC oil pressure switch:
- You're running a SpeedFactory cooling fill pot that uses the VTEC switch location
- You're installing racing camshafts that don't have VTEC lobes
- You need clearance for aftermarket components like turbo manifolds or intercooler piping
- You're running a JDM engine that never had a VTEC oil pressure switch to begin with
Machined from Ti-6Al-4V Titanium
The bolt is CNC machined from Ti-6Al-4V titanium with a hollow domed design and 6-point head. Titanium is lighter than steel and won't corrode, so it stays looking good even if you're running in wet conditions. The hollow domed design saves even more weight compared to a solid bolt.
Raw or Burnt Finish
You can get this bolt in raw titanium finish or burnt titanium finish. Raw titanium has a silver metallic look. Burnt titanium has a rainbow oil slick finish from heat treating. Pick the finish that matches your engine bay setup.
OBD1 Wiring Note
Many JDM engines and some USDM engines don't have a VTEC oil pressure switch. If you're running a JDM ECU, this isn't a problem because the JDM ECU doesn't look for the pressure switch signal. But if you're running a USDM OBD1 ECU on an engine without the VTEC oil pressure switch, you need to bypass the wiring or VTEC won't engage. Here's how to fix it:
- Find the VTEC oil pressure switch plug on your engine harness (this wire comes from OBD1 ECU pin D6)
- Tap this wire into the VTEC solenoid valve wire (the VTEC solenoid wire comes from OBD1 ECU pin A4). Do not cut the VTEC solenoid wire, just connect the pressure switch wire to it
- Your ECU will now think it has a VTEC oil pressure switch connected and VTEC will work properly
