SpeedFactory 4-Port Boost Control Solenoid (External Wastegates Only)

Running an external wastegate and tired of your boost doing whatever the spring feels like that day? You need a boost control solenoid, and SpeedFactory's 4-port is the one you want. Here's how it works. Your ECU or boost controller sends it a PWM signal, and the solenoid uses that signal to control your boost on the fly instead of leaving you stuck at spring pressure. That changes everything. You can push your boost as high as 6 or 7 times your wastegate spring pressure, and you hold steady, accurate boost even way up top where lesser setups start surging all over the place. You can also drop down to a lighter wastegate spring, which is exactly what you want when you're trying to control boost off the line on a launch. Run it on one wastegate or several, pair it with just about any boost controller or tuning software you've got, and take control of your boost instead of hoping the spring gets it right.

Why You Want A 4-Port Over A 3-Port

Think of it this way. A spring alone gives you one boost level and zero say in the matter. A solenoid hands the control over to your ECU, and a 4-port hands you more of it than a 3-port does. You get more range, you multiply your spring pressure harder, and you hold boost rock-steady at high levels where things usually get squirrelly. Best part, you run a lighter spring and let the solenoid do the work, so you actually control boost when you're launching instead of fighting a stiff spring the whole way. If you care about putting boost exactly where you want it across the entire pull, this is how you get there.

Dial In Your Control Frequency

Real talk before you wire it up. A 4-port reacts more than a 3-port does, so you've gotta find the right control frequency for your EMS and your combo. That's just part of tuning boost right, not a knock against the part. SpeedFactory says start at 25Hz, which holds stable in most setups and runs maximum boost at 100% duty with a normally-closed solenoid. You tune from there. Get the frequency wrong and your boost gets jumpy, so don't skip dialing it in. That extra sensitivity is the exact thing that gives you tighter control once you've got it sorted.

Plugs Into Just About Anything And Installs Easy

This thing plays with the whole lineup. Haltech, MoTeC, Hondata, Neptune, AEM, Megasquirt, Holley, KTuner, and plenty more. SpeedFactory made the wiring non-polarized, so you can't hook it up backwards and you don't have to second-guess yourself. The 24" leads give you room to run it where you want, it handles 0-125 PSI, and it comes with three 1/8" NPT to 1/4" barbed fittings plus a sintered muffler. Check the product images for a simple plumbing diagram. Want it mounted clean instead of zip-tied to whatever's nearby? Grab SpeedFactory's mounting bracket, it's sold separately and gives the solenoid a solid home in the bay.

External Wastegates Only, And Not For Late-Model Turbo Hondas

Two things to nail down before you buy. One, this runs external wastegates only, so it's not your part if you're on an internal wastegate or a factory integrated electronic boost setup. Two, SpeedFactory built this for traditional turbo builds, not for the newer factory-turbo Honda Civic, Accord, or Integra. If you're wrenching on one of those late-model turbo cars, look elsewhere, this won't do what you need. Confirm you're running an external wastegate and you're good to go.

What You Get

  • SpeedFactory 4-Port Boost Control Solenoid
  • External wastegate setups only
  • PWM controlled by your ECU or electronic boost controller
  • Pushes boost up to 6-7x wastegate spring pressure
  • Runs lighter springs for better launch control
  • Works with single or multiple wastegates
  • 0-125 PSI range
  • (3) 1/8" NPT x 1/4" barbed male fittings and (1) sintered muffler
  • 24" non-polarized wire leads
  • Plays with Haltech, MoTeC, Hondata, Neptune, AEM, Megasquirt, Holley, KTuner, and more
  • Mounting bracket sold separately

Note: SpeedFactory 4-Port Boost Control Solenoid for external wastegate setups only. Your ECU or electronic boost controller drives it with a PWM signal for tight boost control; pushes boost up to 6-7x wastegate spring pressure and lets you run lighter springs for better launch control. Works with single or multiple wastegates and nearly every electronic boost controller and tuning software (Haltech, MoTeC, Hondata, Neptune, AEM, Megasquirt, Holley, KTuner, and more). 0-125 PSI range. Comes with (3) 1/8" NPT x 1/4" barbed male fittings and (1) sintered muffler, plus 24" non-polarized leads. Start at 25Hz control frequency (max boost at 100% duty, normally-closed); a 4-port reacts more than a 3-port and needs the right frequency dialed in for stable boost, or boost gets unstable. NOT for newer factory-turbocharged Honda Civic, Accord, or Integra. Solenoid and mounting bracket sold separately.
