SpeedFactory Street Savage Camshaft - Honda D16 SOHC VTEC
Tired of turbo cams that make your D16 idle like garbage or kill your midrange? The SpeedFactory Street Savage camshaft is what you need. It idles smooth like stock, spools your turbo faster, and makes power everywhere from off idle to redline with no dead spots in the power band. Built for Street and Strip Turbo D16 Builds
Most aggressive D16 cams are built for all-motor or high boost track cars. They idle rough, lose low end power, and make the car a pain to drive on the street. The Street Savage is designed for street/strip turbo builds where you want more power everywhere without sacrificing driveability. You get smooth idle quality and stock vacuum levels, so the car doesn't feel like a race car at idle. The power comes on early, your turbo spools faster, and the power keeps building all the way to redline with no flat spots.
Proven Power Gains
SpeedFactory tested this cam on a typical turbo D16Z6 Vitara build and found +60 horsepower and +22 lb-ft of torque over the stock cam at the same boost level. That's huge for a cam swap. On an optimized pump gas Vitara setup, the cam helped make 446 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque. Manufactured from Chill-Cast Blanks
SpeedFactory manufactures these cams from new chill-cast blanks instead of regrinding old cores. Chill-cast blanks have superior wear characteristics and eliminate issues that can come from post-heat treatments on reground cams. The base circles and lobes are machined to tight tolerances, so the cam lasts and performs consistently.
Requires Aftermarket Cam Gear and Valve Springs
You need an aftermarket adjustable cam gear to install this camshaft. The factory cam gear won't give you the adjustment you need to dial in cam timing properly, especially on D16Y8 engines. You also need upgraded valve springs because the factory springs can't handle the increased lift and duration. Running this cam with factory springs will cause valve float and damage your valvetrain.

Important: This camshaft requires an aftermarket adjustable cam gear and upgraded valve springs. Do not install this cam with factory valve springs or you will damage your valvetrain. An adjustable cam gear is especially critical for D16Y8 engines to achieve correct cam timing.
