Use The Genuine Badge
Aftermarket emblems exist and they're cheaper, and they're also the reason some cars have a badge that's slightly the wrong shade or sits a fraction off from where it should.

Clean The Surface Properly
The one thing that determines whether this stays on. Adhesive bonds to what you stick it to, and a rear panel that's been carrying a badge for a decade has residue, wax, and road film where the old one sat.
Remove the old emblem and its adhesive completely, then clean the area with isopropyl alcohol so you're bonding to paint rather than to whatever was left behind. Work somewhere warm, since adhesive grips considerably better above about 60 degrees.
Then dry fit and check your alignment before you peel the backing. You get one placement with double-sided tape, and repositioning weakens the bond.
