You want to run an aftermarket steering wheel and a quick release in your Honda or Acura. You need a hub that bolts to your steering shaft and gives the quick release something to mount to. This is the NRG Short Hub. It's the one that started it all. The whole point of a short hub is the mounting surface sits as close to the column as possible. That keeps your wheel from sitting way out in your lap once you stack a quick release and wheel on top of it. Less depth means the wheel ends up in a natural spot. You're keeping your horn. You're keeping your turn signals working about 99% of the time. It's 6061 anodized aluminum so it's strong and it looks clean. 6x70mm bolt pattern for standard 6-hole wheels. Comes with resistors so your airbag light situation is handled. Just know it does NOT work with the thin quick release.

Here's What A Short Hub Actually Does

When you ditch the factory wheel and go aftermarket you need something to bolt the new wheel to. The hub bolts onto your steering shaft. Then your quick release bolts to the hub. Then your wheel bolts to the quick release. Every piece you stack adds depth. The wheel moves closer to you. A short hub keeps that stack as tight as possible so the wheel doesn't end up sitting in your chest. You get a natural driving position even with the quick release installed. That's the whole reason short hubs exist. Without one you're either dealing with a wheel that's too close or you're running a setup that feels wrong.

You Keep Your Horn And Turn Signals

A lot of aftermarket hubs make you give up your horn or your turn signal cancel. This one doesn't. The horn wiring's straightforward. You wire it up and the horn works. The turn signals self-cancel about 99% of the time just like factory. You're not losing functionality to get the aftermarket look. You're keeping the stuff you actually use every drive. That matters when you're daily driving the car and you don't want to think about whether your turn signal's still on.

Make Sure You've Got The Right Quick Release

This short hub does NOT work with the thin quick release. It works with the standard lockable quick release. Before you order make sure you know which quick release you're running or planning to run. Get the thin one and this hub won't pair with it. Get the standard one and you're good. The resistors are included so your airbag and horn wiring is taken care of during install.
