KPower Industries RWD K Swap Cast Intake Manifold - K24A2, K20A2/Z1, K24Z3
Doing a K swap in a rear wheel drive chassis and sick of dealing with intake manifolds that weren't designed for your application? KPower built this cast intake manifold specifically for RWD K swaps. It's perfect for K swapped Miatas, Honda S2000s, Toyota 86s, Subaru BRZs, and other RWD builds. The throttle body faces forward instead of toward the firewall, which is where it needs to be in a RWD engine bay. KPower dyno and track tested this manifold extensively before releasing it, and it consistently makes better midrange torque than the Skunk2 Ultra Street in RWD layouts. This is the intake manifold KPower runs on their own cars.
Built for RWD Engine Bays
Every intake manifold designed for a front wheel drive K swap is going to cause headaches in a RWD chassis. The throttle body faces the wrong direction, the charge piping routing gets complicated, and fitment around the belt tensioner and idler pulley is usually a nightmare. The KPower RWD manifold has a forward facing throttle body location specifically for RWD vehicles, enough clearance around the belt tensioner and idler pulley that you're not fighting the car every time you work on it, and a higher plenum height so you can actually access bolts and wiring without removing the manifold. It fits clean in Miatas, S2000s, 86s, BRZs, BMWs, Nissans, and most other RWD K swap applications.
Cast from A356-T6 Aluminum
The manifold is cast from A356-T6 heat treated aluminum, which holds its shape and sealing surface under real heat and real abuse. The three liter plenum provides enough volume for both stock and built engines, so you're not buying a new manifold every time you change your power goals. Each manifold is pressure tested before it ships to make sure it's fully functional. Due to the casting process, some manifolds arrive with minor cosmetic blemishes from the foundry. These don't affect flow or sealing and the manifold won't be accepted for return or exchange for cosmetic reasons.
74mm Inlet for Drive By Cable or Drive By Wire
The 74mm inlet accepts a B series throttle body for drive by cable setups, or a Bosch 74mm drive by wire throttle body with an adapter for DBW builds. Both setups have been proven on track and on the dyno. KPower recommends pairing this manifold with their 74mm B series throttle body and 3 inch intake piping for drive by cable builds. For drive by wire, pair it with the Bosch 74mm DBW throttle body, a KPower or Winning Formula throttle body adapter, and an IACV block off plate.
K Series IACV and MAP Sensor Ports
The manifold has a built in K series MAP sensor port and K series idle air control valve port. The MAP sensor port simplifies your wiring and tuning. The IACV port is positioned so it connects directly to your OEM engine harness without modification, which means you get a factory idle at all temperatures without fabricating custom IACV plumbing. Use an IACV from a 2003-2005 Accord or 2003-2006 Element (Honda part number 16022-RAA-A01). OEM or aftermarket units both work.
RBB Water Port Option
The manifold is available with or without a TSX RBB style water port. This lets you fit all K20 and K24 heads without cutting, adapters, or extra fittings. If you want to separate the coolant passage from the intake manifold on an RBB or RBC head, choose the PRB flange option and add a TracTuff RBB/RBC coolant bypass. This keeps your intake manifold temperatures cooler and means you don't have to drain coolant just to remove the manifold.
Important Notes Before You Order
Use an OEM style metal intake manifold gasket only. KPower has seen plastic thermal gaskets cause bolt heads to crack off and crack other brands of manifolds. For RBB/RBC heads use Acura part number 17105-RAA-A01. For PRB heads use part number 17055-PNA-004.
If you're running a K20A2 or K20Z1 cylinder head, you'll need a TracTuff K20A2 style upper coolant neck to work with this manifold.
K24Z3 R40 manifolds ship with larger injector bores for the larger OEM injectors that come with these engines. If you want smaller K20A or K24A style injector bores, specify this in the order notes at checkout.
