Honda K20C Turbo Oil Return Line Gasket - Genuine OEM (15544-RWC-A01)
If you've got the turbo off your K20C, or you're pulling the oil return line for any reason, don't put it back together on the old gasket. This is Honda part 15544-RWC-A01, the genuine gasket that seals the joint between your turbo and the oil return line, the line that drains oil back down to the pan after it's done lubricating the turbo. It's a small, cheap piece, but it's sealing hot oil right next to the hottest part of your engine, so it's not one you want to gamble on. Once you've broken that seal, a fresh gasket is the only right way to close it back up.
Why You Don't Reuse This One
Here's the thing about the oil return line: all the oil feeding your turbo has to drain back out, and this gasket seals where that drain meets the turbo. When it's compromised, whether it's old, torn, or you just reused one that was already crushed, oil starts weeping out of that joint. And this is the worst possible place for an oil leak, because it's sitting right next to the turbo and the exhaust, which run blistering hot. Best case you've got an oily mess and a burning smell. Worst case that oil finds enough heat to be a real problem. On top of that, oil leaking out here is oil that's not staying in your engine where it belongs. For a couple bucks, you seal it properly and never think about it.
Replace It Any Time You Break The Seal
A gasket like this gets crushed into shape the first time it's torqued down, so once you've separated that joint, it's done its job and it won't seal the same again. Any time you're in there, pulling the turbo, swapping to a bigger one, doing return line work, or chasing a leak, this gasket goes on the parts list. It's the kind of thing that's a few dollars now versus pulling everything back apart later because you tried to save one. While you're at it, make sure your sealing surfaces are clean before the new one goes in, so it seats flat and seals right the first time.
The Genuine Honda Piece
This is the real Honda gasket, made to the exact shape and material for this joint, so it handles the heat and seals the way the factory intended. It's a precise fit in a spot where precise matters, so it's not somewhere to roll the dice on a generic substitute. Get the OEM gasket and you know it fits the turbo and the line without any trial and error.
