PRODUCT DETAILS

Haltech Bosch CANbus Wideband O2 Sensor Kit is a single channel package that adds a dedicated lambda input to your ECU over CAN. You stick the wideband in the exhaust, and you get real lambda or AFR data you can trust at idle, cruise, and WOT. If you tune, this is the difference between guessing and knowing.

Most factory O2 sensors run narrowband, which means they really only behave near lambda 1. This Bosch CAN wideband sensor setup uses a controller and a Bosch LSU 4.9 sensor kit so your ECU sees wide range lambda data digitally on the CAN network. In practice, that means cleaner logs, less noise, and easier tuning compared to leaning on a factory narrowband input.

This Bosch Haltech sensor kit uses Haltech’s CAN wideband controller that talks CAN at 1 Mbit per second and plugs straight into Haltech ECU CAN systems. The controller comes in a sealed enclosure with two integrated DTM 4 connectors, and you mount it to any flat spot using the two mounting holes. Haltech includes a DTM 4 to DTM 4 CAN cable plus a DTM 4 power supply cable, so you can wire it to a fused switched 12 volt source and a solid ground that can actually handle heater current. Skip the sketchy grounds and you will chase random AFR issues, ask us how we know.

  • Part number HT 159976, SKU HT-159976
  • Sensor compatibility Bosch LSU 4.9
  • Controller type Single channel CAN wideband controller
  • Communications CAN at 1 Mbit per second
  • Supply voltage range 6.5 V to 16 V
  • Supply current 650 mA typical, 3 A peak for WB1 at cold start
  • Maximum ambient temperature 125 C
  • Controller dimensions 86 mm by 77 mm by 28 mm
  • Included CAN cable length 1200 mm

Included components are the single channel CAN wideband controller, Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband sensor, CAN cable, power supply cable, weld on bung, and quick start guide. The bung gives you the sensor mounting point in the exhaust, and sensor angle matters. Point it so condensation does not sit in the sensor during warm up, because water plus a hot sensor equals a bad day.

Compatibility and configuration scope targets Haltech Nexus, Elite, and Platinum ECUs, so it fits right into a Haltech AFR control system and proper Haltech ECU wideband integration. You configure it in Haltech NSP, ESP, or ECU Manager depending on what ECU you run. Some Platinum Sport Series installs need an extra CAN cable to physically reach the ECU CAN connection, so check your layout before you button everything up.

Installation considerations stay simple but you can’t half do them. Mount the controller away from exhaust and turbo heat, route the wiring cleanly through a grommet, and feed it an adequately fused switched 12 volt supply. The heater can pull 3 A peak on cold starts, so plan power and ground like you mean it, especially if you run multiple CAN devices on the same bus. We run these exact kits on our own cars when we want Haltech precise AFR readings without messing around, which is why we recommend this Haltech CANbus wideband kit as a true Haltech plug-and-play wideband option for a serious Haltech wideband tuning kit using a Haltech wideband oxygen sensor and controller combo.

If you want a clean CAN based wideband that works the way a tuner expects, this Bosch wideband for Haltech setup checks the boxes as a Haltech AFR sensor kit, a Haltech CANbus tuning kit, and a solid add on Haltech engine performance sensor option for builds that already lean on a Haltech Nexus CANbus sensor network.
