Hasport EFD2 D Series Engine Mounts - 1988-1991 Honda Civic/CRX
Dropping a newer D-series into your 88-91 EF Civic or CRX? You can't do it on the factory mounts, the engine won't sit right and your axles won't line up. That's what this Hasport EFD2 mount kit is for. It's the swap mount set that puts a 92-00 D-series engine into your EF chassis and locates it exactly where it needs to be, so the motor bolts in clean and everything lines up like it should. The EF is one of the all- time great lightweight swap platforms, and these are how you do the engine side of that build the right way.
What The EFD2 Is Actually For
Let's be clear on which mount kit this is, because Hasport makes more than one for the EF. The EFD2 is the version for running a newer D-series in your 88-91 Civic or CRX, specifically the 92-95 Civic D-series engines with the 2-bolt block bracket, and the 96-00 D-series engines. So if you're swapping in something like a 96-00 D16 to wake up your EF, this is your mount set. (If you're keeping an original 88-91 D-series or going with a ZC, that's the EFSTK kit instead, so make sure you're grabbing the right one for your engine.)
Why The Right Swap Mounts Matter
Here's why you don't cheap out or try to fab something here. Swap mounts do two big jobs: they put the engine in the correct spot in the bay, and they get your axle alignment right. That axle part is the one people underestimate, if the engine's sitting even a little off, your axles run at a bad angle and you'll chew through CV joints and axles in no time. Hasport designs these with CAD/CAM so the engine placement and axle alignment are dialed, and the urethane bushings hold the motor planted instead of letting it flop around like worn rubber would. Cleaner install, better drivability, and parts that actually last.
Pick Your Durometer
These come in four urethane hardness levels, and which one you want comes down to how you're using the car. The general rule: softer is closer to stock comfort, stiffer locks the engine down harder but sends more vibration into the cabin.
- 62A: the softest, closest to a stock feel, the daily-driver pick that cuts engine movement without buzzing you to death.
- 70A: a step firmer, good for a street car you drive hard or take to the track now and then.
- 88A: stiff, you'll feel more vibration in the cabin, but the engine's locked down for serious use.
- 94A: the stiffest, built for dedicated race and drag duty where comfort isn't on the list.
Hasport builds these to cover everything from a mellow daily all the way up to an 8-second drag car, so there's a durometer that fits whatever you're building. If yours is a street car, start soft.
A Few Things To Know Before You Order
Couple of important details so you get the right setup. First, this kit is for manual transmission cars. Second, if you're running a 92-00 Civic manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch, you'll also want Hasport's EFDHC and EFDHCL pieces to make that work, so add those to your order. And one hard exclusion: this mount set does not work for the AWD Civic Wagon, so if that's what you've got, this isn't your kit. Everything's backed by Hasport's lifetime warranty.

Note: Hasport EFD2 engine mount kit for the 1988-1991 Honda Civic and CRX (EF chassis), manual transmission. This is the swap mount configuration for running a newer D-series engine in the EF, fitting 92-95 Civic D-series engines with the 2-bolt block bracket and 96-00 D-series engines (the EFSTK configuration is the one for 88-91 D-series and ZC engines). Designed with CAD/CAM for correct engine placement and axle alignment, with urethane bushings to hold the engine planted. Available in four durometers, 62A (softest, daily), 70A, 88A, and 94A (stiffest, race), covering everything from a daily driver to an 8-second drag car; stiffer durometers transmit more vibration into the cabin. For a 92-00 Civic manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch, also add the Hasport EFDHC and EFDHCL. This mount set does not work for the AWD Civic Wagon. Backed by Hasport's lifetime warranty.
