Energy Suspension Rear Upper Shock Mount Bushings for 06-11 Civic
The rear shocks on your 06-11 Civic mount to the chassis through a set of rubber bushings, and like everything else rubber on a car this age, they get soft and start to deflect. When they do, the top of the shock can move around instead of staying planted, which takes the edge off how the rear end responds. This Energy Suspension set replaces those rubber rear upper shock mount bushings with polyurethane, so the top of the shock stays located and your rear suspension does its job without the slop. It is a small, cheap part that tightens up the rear of the car, especially worth doing if you are already in there replacing shocks.
This fits the 06-11 Civic across the whole lineup, DX, EX, GX, LX, Hybrid, the Si, and the 2008 Mugen Si. It is one of those parts most people do not think about until the rear feels vague or they have got the rear suspension apart for something else. If you are putting in new shocks or doing the rear control arm bushings, this is the time to knock these out too, since you are already in the area.
What these do
These replace the rubber bushings at the upper rear shock mount, where the shock ties into the chassis. The polyurethane is firmer than the factory rubber, so the shock mount deflects less and the rear suspension feels more connected and responsive. The honest tradeoff is right there in that firmness: poly does not absorb vibration the way soft rubber does, so you trade a little ride comfort for a tighter, more durable mount. Most people who do this part consider that a fair deal, and on a car you enjoy driving it is the point.

What to know before you buy
Going from rubber to poly at the shock mount means more firmness and a little more NVH, you will feel a bit more of the road through the rear. Owners say the same thing: stiffer than the rubber it replaces, expect to notice bumps a little more, and you get used to it fast as a daily. If you want the rear to feel tight and direct, that is exactly the trade you are making.
Second, use the grease, this is the one install tip that matters here. A dry poly shock mount bushing is the one that squeaks, and the owners who skip the grease are the ones who come back complaining about noise. Coat the bushing and the sleeve when you install. Beyond that, the job is easy, this is a straightforward swap that most people knock out quickly, especially if the rear shocks are already coming off.
Third, do the related rear parts while you are back there. Energy specifically recommends doing the rear shock mount bushings at the same time as the rear control arm bushings so the whole rear end is consistent, and if you are replacing rear shocks anyway, this is a no-brainer add since the mount is already apart. Do it all at once and the rear of the car feels like new instead of chasing one worn piece at a time.
