Fitment
This kit fits the Honda Civic Type R specifically. The FK8 generation covers the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 model years. The FL5 generation covers 2023 and 2024. These coilovers are not a fit for other Civic trims, Sport, Si, or the standard hatchback. If your title says Type R, you're good. If it doesn't, this isn't your kit.
Confirm your chassis code before ordering. FK8 and FL5 share a name but they're different platforms with different suspension geometry. Ohlins built separate valving for each.
What Ohlins Actually Built Into This Kit
Ohlins' Dual Flow Valve technology is the core of what makes this kit work across road and track conditions. DFV runs compression and rebound through independent flow paths inside the damper. In practice, that means the damper can feel compliant over road imperfections while still resisting body roll and dive under hard driving. Installation
This is a full coilover replacement, front and rear. You'll need standard suspension tools: spring compressors, a torque wrench, and either an alignment shop visit afterward or an alignment rack of your own. Plan for a four-wheel alignment after any suspension change on a Type R. The FK8 and FL5 both run aggressive factory alignment specs, and changing ride height will move those numbers.
