Break-in procedure: Hawk recommends a proper bedding cycle before hard use. Make 6-10 moderate stops from 35 mph down to about 5 mph, allowing 30-60 seconds of cool-down between each. Follow with 2-3 harder stops from 50 mph. This transfers an even layer of friction material to the rotor face and unlocks full HPS performance. Skipping bedding will cause uneven deposits and reduced initial bite.
