Genuine Honda Spool Valve Filter Gasket (15815-RPY-G01) - K20C
The spool valve controls oil flow to your VTC system, and this gasket seals its filter housing. When it fails, you get an oil leak at the spool valve, and on these engines that's a common enough problem that the part is worth knowing about. Why This Gasket Fails
Worth understanding, since it's a known weak point rather than a random failure.
The gasket seals against constant oil pressure and heat cycling in the spool valve area, and over time it hardens and stops sealing the way it should.
What you see is oil weeping from the spool valve, usually on the front of the engine. It's rarely catastrophic, but it's a leak, and one that's ignored gets worse and makes a mess of everything below it.
On the FK8 in particular this is a frequently discussed maintenance item, so if you've traced an oil leak to the spool valve, this gasket is very likely what you need.
