Getting pedal pulsing when you brake on your Accord or ILX? Your rear rotors are probably warped. This Brembo rear rotor's a direct replacement for the factory rotor. Brembo supplies OEM rotors to Honda and Acura, so this is the same quality rotor that came on your car originally. It's made from grey cast iron with a protective coating on the hat and edges to keep it from rusting. Sold individually, so order two if you're doing both rear rotors.

Why Your Rotors Warp

Brake rotors warp from heat cycles. Every time you brake hard, the rotor heats up and expands. When it cools down, it contracts. After enough heat cycles, the rotor doesn't cool evenly and it warps. When your rotor's warped, you feel pedal pulsing when you brake because the brake pads are hitting high and low spots on the rotor. Fresh rotors fix that. They give your brake pads a flat surface to work against, so your braking feels smooth again.

Protective Coating Keeps Them from Rusting

The rotor's got a protective coating on the hat and edges. The friction surfaces aren't coated because your brake pads need to bed into bare cast iron, but everything else is coated to prevent rust. If you live somewhere with winter salt or you're near the ocean, the coating keeps your rotors from turning into rust buckets after one season.

Always Replace Rotors in Pairs

Don't just replace one rotor. If you only do one side, you've got mismatched braking and the car pulls when you brake. Order two rotors and do both rear sides at the same time. Your braking will be balanced and you won't have one rusty rotor and one fresh rotor.

Note: Sold individually. Order two for both rear rotors. Measure your old rotors before you replace them. If they're above minimum thickness (8.0mm) and just rusty, you might only need pads. If they're warped or below minimum thickness, replace them. Bed in your new pads properly after installing new rotors. Don't slam on the brakes for the first few stops or you'll glaze the pads and they won't work right.
