Whiteline Front & Rear Sway Bar Kit FK8 Civic Type R
The FK8 is already one of the best front-drive chassis ever sold, but push it and you still find the factory push: mid-corner understeer and more body roll than a 306 hp K20C1 deserves. This Whiteline front and rear sway bar kit, part number BHK017, is the matched fix. It pairs a 27 mm two-point adjustable front bar with a 22 mm two-point adjustable rear bar, plus new end links for both ends, so you tune the balance instead of guessing at it.
What It Is and Why It Works
Sway bars only load up when the chassis rolls, which is why this is such a clean upgrade for a street-driven Type R: straight-line ride quality stays essentially stock while roll stiffness climbs. Both bars are solid spring steel with two adjustment holes per end, giving you a soft and a hard setting at each axle. Run the rear bar on the stiff hole and the FK8 rotates noticeably harder on corner entry, which is exactly what autocross and track drivers ask for on this platform. Keep both bars in the middle of their range and you get flatter, more repeatable cornering with quicker steering response and none of the darty nervousness a coilover swap can introduce. Whiteline packs the kit complete: two bars, four end links, mount bushings, spacers, and washers, so nothing else goes in the cart to bolt it on. We run this kit on our own FK8 shop car, and it is the first suspension change we point Type R owners toward before springs or coilovers.

What to Know Before You Buy
Budget a real afternoon: Whiteline rates the install at four hours and calls it tricky, and the front bar is the slow half on this chassis. No alignment is needed afterward since bar swaps do not move alignment settings. Start with both bars on the softer holes and change one end at a time; going straight to full stiff front adds roll control but can push the balance back toward understeer, which defeats the reason you bought the kit. Stiff rear is where the rotation lives. If your car sees winter or track abuse, hit the end link hardware with anti-seize now and thank yourself later. Pure budget builds chasing rotation only can run a rear bar alone, but the matched kit keeps front grip in step once you are on wider tires, and it costs less than buying both bars separately. This is a roll-control upgrade, not a ride-height or damping change, so daily comfort survives untouched.
