Honda Civic Cabin Air Filter 2006-2015
Your 2006-2015 Civic pulls CABIN air through a paper filter behind the glove box. When that pad is packed with dust, the vents smell stale and the air at your face barely moves. This washable K&N panel drops into the same tray.
K&N VF2001 is one pretreated filter in a polyurethane frame. It replaces the disposable Honda pad on 8th-gen and 9th-gen Civics and is ready to install out of the box.
What It Is
The factory pad is paper. You pull it, toss it, and buy another when the vents start smelling like last summer. VF2001 is a washable non-woven synthetic panel. You rinse it, let it dry, and put the same filter back. After a clean, the vents smell like the car again and the face vents actually push air.
This is HVAC air, not engine air. The tray sits behind the glove box. The filter does not go under the hood and it will not add power. Do not oil the media. K&N cabin filters are not the red oiled cotton used on engine air filters, and the Recharger kit is the wrong chemistry. When it is dirty, wash it with low-pressure water or K&N 99-6000 cabin cleaner and refresher, then let it dry fully.

One glove-box tray, coupe or sedan. Official K&N lists VF2001 for 2006-2011 Civic 1.3L and 1.8L, and 2012-2015 Civic 1.5L and 1.8L, including Hybrid. A 2001-2005 Civic uses two narrow pads, K&N VF2022 at 8.875 x 4.375 x 1.125 in each. A 2016-2021 Civic uses one different pad, K&N VF2033 at 8.25 x 8.063 x 1.125 in.
What to Know
Open the glove box and drop the side stops so the door swings down. You will see one tray, not the two skinny slots from a 2001-2005 Civic. Pull the paper pad, wipe the leaves out of the tray, and seat VF2001 flush. If the frame sits proud, it is flipped. The whole job is a glove-box afternoon. No tools on most of these cars if the stops let go cleanly.
Wash it when the vents smell stale or the face vents feel weak. Spray K&N 99-6000 cabin cleaner, rinse from the clean side out until the water runs clear, and let it drain. Then hit the media with the refresher in that same kit so the electrostatic charge comes back. Do not reach for the red engine-filter oil. That kit is for oiled cotton in an airbox. If the vents still smell after a clean, look at the evaporator and the drain, not just the filter.
Match the year before you order. If you are staring at a Civic and you are not sure which generation you have, measure the old pad. One wide 9.188 x 8.813 x 0.875 in filter is this part. Two skinny 8.875-inch pads are VF2022. One nearly-square 8.25-inch filter is VF2033. Paper is cheaper the first time and trash the next time you smell the vents. VF2001 is the panel you wash and keep on a 2006-2015 Civic that you actually drive.
