Teknotik brings an ITR back to life.

After owing a 1998 North American Type R in the early 2000′s this was a car I knew I had to own again in my lifetime. After musing over RHD conversions, I had the chance to acquire the only legal RHD DC2 in Canada, where we can only register JDM Cars 15 years or older. This car was like a needle in haystack. When I purchased the car it was in very rough condition and had be repainted yellow. It had the stock molested B18C. My goal was to transform this car back to OEM exterior condition and restore the body and paint. A project 3 years in the making, the car was stripped down and every panel removed as the restoration began. Being the owner of one of Canada’s largest Honda and Acura Tuning shops Teknotik.com, I wanted to build a car that would reflect the quality of parts that we sell and promote. A K20A Type R was the only way to go.

With the help of quality parts from such manufacturers as Hybrid Racing, the swap was simple, straightforward and problem free even with the RHD differences. I encourage anyone thinking about doing a K swap to do their research and take their time. With the popularity of this swap the K series has already seen a flood of new groundbreaking engine setups and part development, and it’s only going to get better!
