That means the bar is applying force while the car is sitting still, which is the opposite of what it should be doing. These adjustable links let you dial that out completely, so the bar sits neutral at ride height and starts working the instant you load it.

Why Preload Is Worth Eliminating

Here's what's happening under the car.

Your sway bar is a torsion spring, and at rest it should be doing nothing at all. Load the car in a corner and it twists to resist roll. That's the entire job.

But if your end links are the wrong length for your ride height, the bar is already twisted before you've moved. That causes two problems. It applies force at rest, which introduces cross weight and can make the car behave differently turning left than turning right. And it uses up part of the bar's travel before the corner even starts.

Adjustable links fix it. Set the length so the bar is completely neutral with the car at ride height, and it works evenly on both sides from the moment you turn in. On a lowered car running an aftermarket bar, that's the difference between a setup that's correct and one that's slightly wrong all the time.

58mm To 64mm Of Range

Measured center to center, which is enough range to zero out preload on most lowered setups.

The practical way to set them: get the car at ride height, disconnect one end, and adjust the link until it drops into place with no tension in either direction. That's zero preload. If the car is getting corner balanced, do this after rather than before.

Need The Sway Bar Too?

Worth being clear: this kit is end links only, no bar included. If you're still on the factory rear bar or don't have one at all, the bar is where the actual handling gain comes from and these links are what let you set it up properly.

Have a look at our Progress rear sway bars for these chassis. Fitting a bar and adjustable links together is the right way to do it, since you're changing the geometry anyway and you'll want to zero the preload once it's in.

What's In The Kit

One pair of adjustable end links

Four M10-1.25 flange nuts

Two M10-1.25 jamb nuts

One pair covers one sway bar.

Fitment

2013-2019 Acura ILX Base
2002-2006 Acura RSX Base and Type-S
2002-2015 Honda Civic DX / EX / LX / Si

Rear application.

Who Should Run These

This is for the Civic, RSX, or ILX owner who's lowered the car, fitted a rear bar, or both, and wants the suspension set up correctly rather than approximately.
