Add boost and fuel demand climbs fast. On a boosted car with a 1:1 regulator, fuel pressure rises with boost, and the higher the pressure a pump has to push against, the less fuel it moves. So the pump runs out of flow at full boost, right when the engine needs the most fuel. You won't always see it coming. Fuel pressure sags, the car leans out at the top of the gear, and if you're lucky the only casualty is the dyno sheet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe X2 hanger drops into your factory tank in place of the OEM hanger and holds up to two pumps, with real -8AN feed and -6AN return ports. DeatschWerks says it supports over 1400 wheel horsepower on pump gas with forced induction in its biggest setup. Most of you won't get anywhere near that, and that's fine. What you're really buying is a fuel system you won't outgrow on the next turbo upgrade. If you're making 250 whp on a small turbo, though, a single good in-tank pump on the factory hanger will probably do the job for less money.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eOne Hanger, Three Ways to Buy It\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou can buy the bare hanger and run your own pumps. It accepts two DW420 pumps or one DW810 brushless pump. You can also get it with two DW420s already installed. The third option adds a PTFE plumbing kit to the dual-pump setup. PTFE-lined hose holds up to ethanol and pressure better than rubber, so it's worth having if you're on E85 or running the line out to an engine bay that's been replumbed with AN fittings. Starting with the base hanger and one pump, then adding the second when the power calls for it, is a smart way to spread out the cost.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eAnodized Aluminum and AN ORB Ports\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe hanger body is anodized aluminum. Anodizing is a hard, corrosion-resistant layer grown into the surface of the aluminum itself, not a paint that can flake off into your tank. The feed and return use ORB (O-ring boss) ports. An ORB port has a straight thread, and an O-ring does the sealing, not the threads. That means no thread tape and no tapered threads to crack the housing if you over-tighten. You'll still need -8 and -6 lines out to the engine bay if you're not getting the plumbing kit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eWhat It Doesn't Replace\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo pumps draw a lot more current than the factory wiring was built for. Plan on a dedicated relay and properly sized power and ground wires straight to the pumps. If you run them off the stock pump circuit, you'll get voltage drop that cuts the pumps' output. The hanger also won't fix a small fuel rail, undersized injectors, or a regulator that can't handle the flow. It's one part of a fuel system, and the injectors and tune still have to match it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch4\u003eInstall Notes\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt installs through the factory access opening, and you reuse the OEM hanger-to-tank gasket. If yours is old, hard, or torn, replace it with a new OEM gasket. A fuel smell inside the car is not something you want to chase down later.
