The user was planning on doing an H-Series engine swap and wanted to use something other than the traditional OEM H-Series shifter. The OEM shifter often contributes to miss shifts and doesn't typically give the performance feel that a driver is hoping for in a car with an engine swap. Since a simple bracket was all that was required to make our performance RSX shifter compatible with an h-swap, we decided to make the part available to him and all other H-swappers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bracket replaces your OEM H-Series cast aluminum bracket. When used in conjunction with the HR shifter and cables, you'll see improved shifts and tons of adjustability. As an added bonus, you'll no longer need to cut your chassis to run the H-Series box and cables. Our shifter works with most older Honda and Acura chassis that use a solid shift linkage. Not all chassis are compatible, so check fitment before purchasing the box.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn almost every customer's experience, switching from the OEM equipment to any combination of our bushings, cables, and shifter has led to improved shift feel, reduced grinding and mis-shifts, as well as more responsiveness in the transmission. The cables and shifter together typically result in the ability to shift at higher RPM's without the grinding and stiff engagement that would normally make this impossible. This is all attributed to the reduction in compliance (elasticity) of both the cables and shifter. This is the result of thicker cores in our cables, as well as the use of metal in our cables and shifters where the original parts from Honda\/Acura used plastic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNote that this bracket require the use of a shift linkage and shifter that are compatible with an RSX. You've got this beautiful swapped EF, EG, EK, or DC and then you're stuck figuring out what to do about the OEM RSX plastic shifter. The RSX-style setups mount on top of the tunnel and they force you to butcher your center console, so your clean interior ends up looking like a hack job. Hybrid Racing solved that back in 2008 when they built the very first bolt-in K-swap shifter, and this A2 is the latest version after nearly fifteen years and thousands of shifters out in the field. Here's what makes it different. It bolts in from underneath the tunnel, not on top. That means you keep your factory center console and your interior keeps that clean OEM look. No cutting up your console. Just two small holes to drill and you're done. It's the shifter that lets your K swap look factory inside while shifting way better than factory.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch4\u003eHere's Why The Bolt-In Design Matters\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMost K-swap shifters are RSX-style units that sit on top of the shift tunnel. The problem with that is they stick up into where your center console lives, so you've got to hack the console apart to clear the shifter. Now your nice swapped car's got a chopped-up interior and it looks like exactly what it is, a swap that didn't get finished clean. Hybrid Racing's bolt-in shifter mounts from under the tunnel instead. Everything sits down where it should, so your factory center console drops right back in and your interior looks stock. You're getting all the shifting benefits without sacrificing the look of your car. For a lot of people that's the whole reason to go this route. You did the swap to make the car better, not to make the inside look like a project that stalled out.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch4\u003eRace-Tested All Over The World\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis isn't some unproven part. Hybrid Racing's shifter's been run in cars from California to England to Japan, and racers all over the world reach for it. They're not picking it just because it's reliable, though it is. They're picking it because it installs easy and it's adjustable in ways most shifters aren't. When a part's been out there this long getting beat on by people who shift hard for a living, you know it holds up.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch4\u003eDial In The Throw Exactly How You Want It\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis is where the A2 really shines. You can adjust the front\/back throw to three settings, full stock throw, 75% of stock, or 50% of stock. You can do the same thing with the left\/right throw, three settings from full stock down to 50%. So you're tuning how short and notchy you want the shift action to feel. Want it tight and quick for the track? Crank it down to 50%. Want something closer to stock for daily comfort? Leave it at 100%. On top of that the shift knob adjusts up to 3 inches vertically and the aluminum offset block rotates a full 360 degrees, so you can put the knob exactly where your hand wants it. Not many shifters let you fine tune the feel and the position this much. You're setting it up around how you drive instead of just living with whatever the shifter gives you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch4\u003eWorks With Stock or Race Cables\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe shifter works with both stock DC5 shifter cables and Hybrid Racing's own race cables, so you're not locked into one or the other. Run what you've got or step up to the race cables when you want. It accepts standard M10x1.5 shift knobs, which is the OEM Honda\/Acura thread, so your existing knob or just about any aftermarket knob threads right on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch4\u003eCheck Your Chassis and Transmission\u003c\/h4\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThis shifter fits the 1984-1991 Honda CRX, 1984-2000 Honda Civic, 1992-1997 Honda Del Sol, and 1990-2001 Acura Integra. One thing to know. If your car came with an automatic from the factory you'll need to cut off the factory auto shifter cable bracket that's welded inside the shift tunnel. Once that's gone the install's identical to a manual chassis. On the transmission side it works with a long list of K-series gearboxes, including the 01-06 JDM Integra Type R, 01-05 JDM Civic Type R, 02-04 RSX Type-S, 02-06 UKDM\/EDM Civic Type R, base RSX, 02-05 Civic Si, 05-06 RSX Type S, and the 03-06 CR-V AWD and 03-11 Element AWD K24 boxes.
