You need more oil pressure than the factory pump provides. The ACL high-performance oil pump moves up to 20% more oil volume than the factory pump and holds 70-75 PSI oil pressure at high RPM. The factory oil pump's fine for stock power and stock RPM, but if you're revving past 8,000 RPM or running boost, the factory pump struggles to maintain pressure. When oil pressure drops, your bearings starve and you're spinning a bearing or throwing a rod. The ACL pump fixes that.

Why You Need More Oil Pressure

Here's what happens when you build a D series for more power: you're revving it higher, you're running more load from boost or high compression, and your bearings need more oil flow to stay alive. The factory oil pump wasn't designed for 9,000 RPM or 20+ PSI of boost. It'll maintain decent pressure at idle and low RPM, but once you're at high RPM under load, the pressure drops. When that happens, your rod bearings and main bearings aren't getting enough oil. That's how you spin a bearing mid-pull and lunch the motor. The ACL pump moves more oil volume and maintains higher pressure at high RPM, so your bearings stay lubricated no matter how hard you're pushing the motor.

20% More Oil Volume

The ACL pump flows up to 20% more oil volume than the factory pump. That extra volume means the pump can maintain oil pressure even when your engine's demanding more oil at high RPM. The pump uses precision-machined steel rotors inside a tight housing, so you're not losing volume to slop or internal leakage like you get with worn factory pumps.

70-75 PSI Relief Spring

The ACL pump's got an uprated pressure relief spring that holds 70-75 PSI instead of the factory pump's lower pressure setting. That means you're maintaining higher oil pressure across the entire RPM range, which keeps your bearings happy at high RPM. The CNC-machined relief valve maintains stable pressure, so you're not getting pressure spikes or drops that mess with bearing clearances.

Bolt-On, No Modifications Required

The ACL pump's a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory oil pump. You reuse your factory oil pickup and oil pan. You're not clearancing the housing or modifying anything. Just unbolt the factory pump, bolt on the ACL pump, and you're done. The pump's been flow-bench tested at ACL's facility before it ships, so you're getting consistent performance out of the box.

What You Get

ACL high-performance oil pump

Precision-machined steel rotors

Heat-treated and nitrided for wear resistance

70-75 PSI pressure relief spring

20% more oil volume than factory

CNC-machined relief valve

Flow-bench tested before shipping

Direct bolt-on replacement

Compatible Engines

D15B1, D15B7

D16A6 D16Z6

Fits Your Car

1988-1995 Honda Civic

1988-1991 Honda CRX

1993-1997 Honda Del Sol

1986-1989 Acura Integra

Note: Reuse your factory oil pickup and oil pan. The ACL high performance oil pump is designed for B series engines that spend time at high RPM where the stock pump starts to lose pressure. This pump flows more oil than the factory unit and it's built to handle the abuse of track days, drag racing, or sustained high-RPM use. If you're running a built motor with aggressive cams, high valve spring pressure, or you're bouncing off the limiter regularly, the stock oil pump's not good enough. You need something that maintains oil pressure when the engine's working hard. This pump does that.

Here's Why Stock Oil Pumps Fall Short

The factory B series oil pump works fine for a stock motor at normal RPM. Push the engine past 7,000-8,000 RPM consistently and the stock pump struggles to maintain pressure. The gerotor wears, the clearances open up, and you're losing pressure right when the engine needs it most. At high RPM, your valve train's moving faster, your bearings are under more load, and you need consistent oil pressure to keep everything lubricated. If the pressure drops, you're risking bearing damage or valve train wear. A high performance oil pump flows more volume and maintains pressure at RPM ranges where the stock pump gives up.

Precision Gerotors and Tight Tolerances

The ACL pump uses precision-machined steel-copper alloy gerotors. The gerotor's the internal component that actually pumps the oil. Tighter machining tolerances mean less internal leakage and more consistent flow. Cheap oil pumps have sloppy tolerances and they leak pressure internally before the oil even gets to your engine. The ACL pump's gerotors are machined tight so the pump moves the oil volume it's supposed to move. The housing's die-cast aluminum with an anodized finish to prevent corrosion. Aluminum keeps the weight down compared to cast iron and the anodizing stops it from corroding over time.

High Flow for High RPM

This pump's designed to flow more oil than stock. That matters when you're running high RPM or you've got increased oil demand from aftermarket parts. Aggressive cams with high lift and duration need more oil. Heavy valve springs load the valve train harder and require better lubrication. Turbo builds with oil-cooled turbos pull oil volume for the turbo feed. A stock pump might struggle to supply enough volume for all that. The ACL pump handles it. You're maintaining oil pressure across the RPM range instead of watching it drop off at high RPM.

Built to Last

The pump comes with a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty. It's also been inspected and tested before it ships. You're getting a pump that's ready to install and built to hold up under hard use. It includes a new crank seal and O-ring so you're not reusing worn seals during installation. The pump fits all B series engines, OBD1 and OBD2, and it's got provisions for the crank position sensor if your motor has one.

What You Get

ACL high performance oil pump for B series engines

Precision-machined steel-copper alloy gerotors

Die-cast aluminum housing with anodized finish

Higher flow volume than stock oil pump

Maintains oil pressure at high RPM

Includes new crank seal and O-ring

Fits all B series engines (OBD1 and OBD2)

Provision for crank position sensor

Fits These Engines

B16A, B16A2, B16A3

B17A1

B18A1, B18B1

B18C1, B18C5

B20B, B20Z

Note: Air in the oil system causes cavitation and you lose oil pressure even with a good pump. Prime the pump before you install it. Pour fresh oil into the pump inlet and rotate the gerotor by hand to distribute oil through the pump. That ensures the pump has oil in it when you first start the engine. If you start the engine with a dry pump, it takes a few seconds to build pressure and that's a few seconds where your bearings aren't getting oil. After you've installed the pump and started the engine, check your oil pressure immediately. You should see pressure within a few seconds. If pressure doesn't come up, shut the engine off and figure out why. Don't let it run with no oil pressure. The high performance pump flows more volume but it doesn't automatically fix oil pressure issues caused by worn bearings, clogged oil passages, or a bad oil pressure sensor. If your engine had low oil pressure before, diagnose the actual problem before you assume a new pump's going to fix it.

1990-2001 Acura Integra GS/LS/RS/GS-R/Type R
1999-2000 Honda Civic Si

1997-2001 Honda CR-V

1994-1997 Honda Del Sol VTEC

(1) Oil Pump
